Many North Central alumni and friends have let us know that the College is included in their estate plans and therefore are members of the Cornerstone Society. You may be inspired, or recognize friends, by reading some of our Donor Stories.

Few of us are equipped to discuss or create legal documents. However, when you are ready to develop or update your estate plans, having a working knowledge of the options and resources that are available to you can be of great assistance. What are the benefits of a making a bequest?

There are four things to remember when you're considering a bequest:

  1. You leave a lasting legacy through your philanthropy
  2. You lessen the burden of taxes on your family
  3. You may receive estate tax savings
  4. You enjoy your retirement, savings and property during your lifetime

How do I make a bequest?

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying that a gift is made to family, friends or North Central College as part of your estate plan.

To support North Central's mission – and celebrate your passion for the College – you may name the College as a beneficiary to your will, living trust, retirement account, insurance policy or other accounts.

In order to make a bequest, you should speak with your attorney, who can help you include North Central College in your estate plan. We have provided some basic bequest language to assist you and your attorney. To include an outright bequest to North Central, you may use this simple language.
